procrastination station

Filed under: Tales from the TBR

I have 2 pages of space left for my memo and 3 more issues to IRAC. I realize this means nothing to any of you, except maybe Jane or JMC, but it’s likely I’ll be pulling my hair out in about 30 minutes. If I don’t give up and go to bed first.  So but, I took a break to get some reading done while I gave my poor little brain a rest from the IRAC-mania. Only to find that my book is annoying me immensely right now. I’m reading Who Wants to be a Sex Goddess? for review and while it started off fine, there’s a big misunderstanding and the fact that the stupid hero would rather sulk around and shoot eye daggers at the heroine than ask for clarification is making me want to throw the book against a wall. Or at the very least, stop reading…. Because there’s no reason for him to jump to the worst conclusion about her. But because he’s been betrayed before, blah blah blah, I wish authors would throw out the little plot card that has BIG MISUNDERSTANDING on it. Are there any readers out there who are just yearning for more and more big mis plots? anywhere?

It’s to the point where I’m now just skimming the pages waiting for the "talk" to happen so we can get on with the story. I’ve found some other faults with the book as well, but I suspect I’m just being cranky and will have to decide later if I’m really going to hold that against the book. Cause right now, all it’s got going for it is it’s cover.

**All that to say, I really do think it’s just me being cranky because looking back on it, sorry Cindy, but I think Kristie would enjoy this. Not sure why exactly I think that, but I do.
